Stephanie studies fervently for an upcoming spelling bee, employing mnemonic devices to help her remember certain words. However, she is thwarted by the very word, "mnemonic", when the big day comes. She demands a rematch with the winner, which Danny officiates in the Tanners' living room. Meanwhile, Michelle wants to learn to read, but becomes confused when various members of the family all have different approaches to teaching.
