Nikolay Sergeyevich, who has been heading the department of pediatrics for many years, retires and enters the "wonderful world of pensioners". Unfortunately, Nikolay Sergeyevich has neither savings nor a family. His wife passed away a year ago, but left him touching letters with memories and advice for later life. Having rather quickly tasted all the public benefits of his position, Nikolay Sergeyevich decides to join his wife immediately. He arranges a farewell dinner for himself, but then fate brings him together with a young energetic guy Lyokha, who works as a "friend for an hour", and together they go hardcore.

Lyokha decides to rent a cultural companion for Sergeyich and sends the pensioner to a meeting with her. Sergeyich wants to borrow some money from Tolya, but Tolya offers to earn it on sports betting.
