- RichardOctober 18, 2025Saw this one on Dutch TV as a kid. Mr. Roarke in the white suit, Tattoo ringing the bell and shouting “The plane! The plane!”, that moment alone was pure magic. Guests arriving by plane to live out their deepest wishes. It felt like a dream factory with palm trees and moral lessons. The setup was always the same: someone wanted fame, love, revenge, or closure. Roarke would grant it with a twist. Sometimes it was heartwarming, sometimes it got dark. As a kid, I didn’t catch all the nuance, but the vibe was unforgettable. The island itself felt magical and slightly eerie. Roarke knew everything, Tattoo was loyal and Cheeky and the guests always left changed.
