Season 1
This Flemish sitcom is entirely about the entirely wacky lower-class family Backeljau, which always speaks the most common Antwerp dialect. It consists of father François 'Cois' Backeljau, his wife Maria, the rather cunning Bomma ('granny' Thérèse, his mother), the even older pet (in dog years) Blacky, their son Franky and his wife Janine, daughter Sabrina and her husband Antonio and little nephew Lionel, the youngest but more intelligent then all his dumb relatives together and various lovers, friends and regular guests, such as the mailman and the policeman.

Hij weigert het spelletje mee te spelen, want hij is absoluut niet geïnteresseerd in een televisiecarrière. Sabrina slaagt erin de aandacht af te leiden door "toevallig" aan te kondigen dat ze die avond zal koken. Franky komt nog sterker uit de hoek, want hij meldt de komst van zijn geliefd Janineke aan. However an idle bet, presumed impossible, forces him to keep his word when Maria's girls football (soccer) team accidentally makes the concrete construction 'league final' because their semi-final adversaries are disqualified for doping. Een leven vol voorarrestBlacky, according to bomma Thérèse, is suffering a lot from a dry throat again. The police question Thérèse about a shoplifting and do not believe a word of her story. Bomma ends up behind the bars. The peace and seclusion inspires her and she turns out to be a real writer. Meanwhile, Çois, is looking for a sponsor for his cycling plans. Cois rehearse endlessly but desperately the part he accepted to play in amateur theatre, but ends up with extreme stage-fright. Mobiele mensenSabrina Backeljau has its birthday and that has to be celebrated. Her wish list is anything but modest. But yes, a girl only turns twenty once. A great party is therefore inevitable. Naturally, the practical test follows after Sabrina's theoretical driving test. The driving lessons are a real ordeal for daddy Çois. When Johnny and Marina win the German lotto, Çois gets the chance of his life to prove how clever he is with children. De rijkste man ter wereldFrançois' annual nightmare arrives: his taxes. IRS inspector Firmin Deslechte visits, and is kidnapped to extort a refund, then hypnotized. It's too much when Mia lets her sister, aunt Carla, drop by. In fact she only drop off her adorable 5 year-old son Lionel, smarter then all adults together, yet still easily led astray by grandma. François buys a new TV and takes a second job as early pizza baker to pay for it. - RecessieE10
RecessieFrançois's employer went bust, so he looses his mason job. Ma resumes her waitress job and puts him in charge of the household, a recipe for domestic disaster. Frankie's latest source of income is selling plush bananas, but acts suspiciously shifty. Sabrina also tries serving, but is far to blunt and rude, so everybody agrees she should apply for a public service job, and the police actually hires the airhead. - De rechten van het konijnE11
De rechten van het konijnThe hunting season is open. Thérèse does not like such a cowardly slaughter at all and protests. Not only indoors but also with the local police officers. Sabrina, who starts her first day at work , is immediately confronted with her family at the police station. Thanks to his relations with the police, it all turns out to be nothing for Çois. Sabrina is less fortunate: she takes her job too seriously, which is not being appreciated. - Miljaar!E12
Miljaar!Grandma's reckless hobbies have run up such a huge bill in debts and damages that a bailiff is coming with a locksmith to confiscate the entire Backeljau home and its content. Sabrina fines them and has their truck towed, which buys some time. Selling off possessions doesn't raise nearly enough. An expatriate aunt's hideous, feared African gifts suddenly become important. - De dertiendeE13
De dertiendeIt's Friday the 13th, so superstitious çoi warns his children. They still go skiing on brushes, and return pretending to have multiple fractures- which scares çoi so badly he really falls and breaks a leg. Ma plans and packs half the home for a gastronomy weekend, and grandma for an archaeological dig in Indian country. The disciples of a Hindu swami play a surprising part.
