The story is set in Rome around 44 B.C., just after the assassination of Julius Caesar. Octavius, aged 17, who was named heir by Caesar, is challenged by Marc Anthony. A civil war ensues, ending in a showdown between Octavius and Marc Anthony.

Tyrannus manages to save his son but by the time he returns to the senate Caesar has been murdered,secretly leaving a will that names his adoptive nephew Octavian as his heir. - Will
E2WillAtia, the sister of Caesar and mother of Octavian,is coerced by the senate to reveal the contents of the late general's will - which discloses the fact that he has named Octavian as his successor. This makes him a target for Brutus and Cassius and the other conspirators but Mark Antony is also disappointed by the news. Tyrannus sees Octavian as his responsibility and the pair agree to flee Rome. - Arkham
E3ArkhamCamane posts signs around Rome claiming that Octavius is Caesar's rightful heir. Under Tyrannus's protection Octavius is on the run because Cassius wishes him dead. The two are captured by mercenaries and put into a gladiator's prison where they will face certain death if their true identities are revealed. - The Hunt
E4The HuntThough Octavius believes they are safe at Marc Antony's villa, Tyrannus doesn't trust his host and, after arguing with both Octavius and Antony, he leaves the villa. It turns out that Tyrannus had good reason to distrust the ambitious Antony, who arranges to have Octavius bitten by a poisonous snake and leaves him to die. - The Lost Legion
