Eight Deadly Shots: Part One (1972) is the first part of the Finnish miniseries Kahdeksan surmanluotia, directed by and starring Mikko Niskanen. The story, based on true events, follows Pasi, a humble farmer and lumberjack who struggles to support his family in conditions of extreme poverty. As he faces economic hardship and problems with alcohol, his desperation grows, leading him down a tragic path. The series is famous for its realistic style and its deep exploration of the psychology of a man trapped in misery and hopelessness. It is considered one of the masterpieces of Finnish cinema.
