16-year-old Maria disappears one night in 2012 in the small Christian village of Hvannasund in the Faroe Islands. One and a half days later, her body is found in the water. Police conclude that it was a suicide. In the teenage room, Maria's diary shows up and reveals a love affair with the one year older Jógvan. The ex-girlfriend is clearly haunted by the death, and the question is whether Jógvan carries a heavy secret about the night when Maria disappeared.
