A divorced father, he has custody of his 23-year-old slacker son Ben, who dreams of wealth and freedom but is too lazy to find a real job. Dr. Katz's receptionist is the acerbic Laura. He spends his free time in the bar "Jacky's 33" with his friends Stan and Julie, the bartender.

Ben TreatsBen wins $500 in a lottery scratch-off game and uses the money on an expensive dinner at a five star restaurant, with Dr. Katz and Laura as his guests. In the end, the restaurant bill ends up over his $500, forcing him to rely on Katz and Laura to pay the rest.
Memoirs

MemoirsBen wants to make author his full-time job, and for his first book, plans to write memoirs of his life so far. He dedicates the book to Dr. Katz, rationalizing that by the time he finishes the book, Katz will be dead. As with most all job ideas, though, Ben gives up by the end of the episode.
Electric Bike

Electric BikeDr. Katz buys an Electric Bike because he always wanted one but never got it as a kid. They find that a $1,000 bicycle isn't all fun and games, when it breaks as Ben drove it down stairs. They soon learnm that some inventions just were never meant to be.

Broadcaster BenApparently not having learned from his previous experience with journalism, Ben goes to a broadcasting school audition.

Trash DayKatz finds a chair sitting outside on the curb and takes it home (""You wouldn't believe the kind of stuff people throw away."" Ben: ""You mean crap?""). However, he realizes his folly and sends Ben to take it to the dump, which proves to be difficult, because the dump is no longer open to the public (""It's all digital now"").

Sharon MeyersKatz gets a phone call from Sharon Meyers, a woman he dated briefly two years ago, when she was also his patient. She was very attractive, and a dancer (""She was a Rockette. She can kick her own face,"" Ben says).

ClosetsDr. Katz enlists Ben's help in reorganizing Katz's bedroom closet space. Ben schedules appointments for various closet companies. However, the company that Ben chose actually makes Katz's closet worse.
Wild Weekend

Wild WeekendBen wants to take a bike trip to Nova Scotia, and he and Katz discuss the great outdoors. Several plans are offered, but what they wind up doing is sitting around the house all weekend. Ben gets the whole thing on tape, thanks to Laura's camcorder.
Chopper

ChopperBen is runner-up in a contest to ride in a traffic helicopter. He hopes something will happen to the winner so he can take their place, and he even practices how he'll behave in the helicopter. But things go according to plan.

AlibiWhile watching the news, Ben and Katz learn that a mailbox in their neighborhood was struck by a car driven by a bald Caucasian male in his late 40s. Ben assumes it was his dad, despite dad's protests that while he is in his late 40s, he is ""balding,"" not bald.
