Doris works up a sweat: her 50th birthday is approaching and she sees no reason to celebrate. She is nervous, has hot flashes, and is dissatisfied. Under no circumstances does she want a bourgeois family celebration. When Doris learns that her husband Torsten is planning a surprise party, only one thing helps: to escape. Without further ado, Doris goes to a wellness hotel with her best friends Katja and Anke for a few days. There she would like to celebrate the tiresome birthday in a relaxed manner. The friends are not at all enthusiastic when they learn that Doris wants to use the stay to search for meaning and has hired the "life coach" Georg for everyone. Not everything else is going as planned. Different encounters and surprising revelations force Doris, Katja and Anke to grapple with their small and large life lies. Their friendship is also put to a severe test.
