Laila is dominated by possessive boyfriend Rizz but Jean, the mother who has her at sixteen and had her adopted, is now back and anxious to help. Emma must help Laila decide which of them really has her interests at heart. Meanwhile Rob feels uncomfortable at having to pose as man and wife with DCI Driver during a stake-out.
