Dating agency "Reif für die Liebe" co-owner Markus Steffinger was skull-smashed in his office. Police chief Achtziger must investigate with rookie Winter. Client Beatrice Böttcher was matched with a crook, apparently an alias of Steffinger, who regularly posed as notary, doctor - to win the confidence of wealthy, elder single women, to receive spicy sums on various pretexts. Steffinger's firm partner Andreas Fend worked on the other half of the clients register alphabet. Fresh widow Annemarie Steffinger may have been more jealous and less ignorant the she pretends. Sergeant Mohr evades a disliked school mate's wedding invitation to participate in a bowling tournament, by pretending he's on a police congress in Rome, but thus misses out on both fronts.
