Real estate agent Hubert Riedl is found, skull fatally smashed, shortly after making the winning, apparently excessive bid on the Lederhosen of late partner Wastl Wenninger from his widow Renate's contribution to a local society's auction, and it's missing. Rookie Sebastian König and old fox Stadler focus on Hubert's buddies, craftsmen Erwin Glöckner and Sepp Krampfinger, the former lacking an alibi, the latter turning out cuckolded by Riedl. Max finds Hubert was interested in a 600.000 Euro diamond, auctioned in Zurich, and also missing. Meanwhile the police director and accountants worry about the expensive favors they insisted bestowing on König o account of his uncle, who now clarifies he wanted equal treatment, which Sebastian sneakily achieved.
