Thomas Sailer was found by his wife Christa, skull-smashed by leaky fire extinguisher in his pawnshop, where the valuable Landauer painting "Councilors of Rosenheim". It's found in cousin Theodor von Stein's room in the mansion of heavenly indebted aristocratic pawning owner, Franz von Stein, who recently threatened Sailer. However it turns out to be a fake copy, so Lind, Hartl and Michi suspect the original would indicate the murdered.
