Red Dead Redemption was developed by Rockstar San Diego and published by Rockstar Games. It was released for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360, and is the sequel to 2004's Red Dead Revolver. In our analysis of the series, we find that the beta of Revolver was originally being spearheded by Capcom, and that the series gameplay could have been very different. The series has sold well, shipping over 14 million copies, which rivaled the sales of the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series.
