The game was released in 2006, and was included as a pack-in game with the Wii console in all territories besides Japan and South Korea. This made it the first game bundled in with a Nintendo system since Mario's Tennis for the Virtual Boy in 1995. Wii Sports is the second best-selling video game of all time, behind Tetris, and is the best-selling game of all time for a single platform. As of September 30, 2015, the game had sold 82.72 million copies worldwide.
