Completely out of character, Charles-Victor has fallen in love with the 'riper' librarian Annie. Having no experience in courting, he meticulously tries his hand at love letter-writing, and so accidentally gives poor freshman Koen the false impression that he is the object of domineering C-V's unwelcome affection. C-V takes man-eater Betty's cue to say it with flowers, but Jeanne thinks the plant -from Jef's greenhouse- he was preparing to offer Anie was for her, and a love-runner is hard to find.
