In the summer of 1969, Apollo 11 succeeded in being the first manned mission to land on the moon. The next challenge was to develop a lunar rover that would allow astronauts to explore the moon's vast surface. However, the project was met with numerous problems. How would they build a lunar rover that would fit in the small space of the lunar module? How would they design tires that would be both light and strong? The team of engineers only had a year and a half to complete the first vehicle.
