Dionysus and the Pirates

S1 • E113 May 30, 2008 5mIn ancient Greece people believed in many gods- one of whom was Dionysus. Dionysus loved parties and was always on the look out for opportunities to have a good time. So one day, when he spotted a ship full of pirates, he decided to join them and have some fun. Unfortunately the pirates were not particularly nice people and when they saw Dionysus, they bound him and threw him into the bottom of the ship to become their prisoner. No matter how hard he tried, Dionysus could not persuade the pirates to be friendly and release him -- so he decided to teach them a lesson. The results of that lesson are still with us to this day.
