Casper the Friendly Ghost is the protagonist of the Famous Studios theatrical animated cartoons of the same name. He is a pleasant, personable and translucent ghost, but often criticized by his three wicked uncles, the Ghostly Trio. The character was featured in 55 theatrical cartoons titled "The Friendly Ghost" from 1945 to 1959.

E2Once Upon a RhymeCasper the Friendly Ghost doesn't like to haunt and wishes he could be in Mother Gooseland. He gets his wish and frightens the spider away from Little Miss Muffet. He them comes upon the old lady in the shoe but frightens her away, also. He is depressed, but when he rescues Red Riding Hood from the wolf, Mother Goose rewards him by making up a rhyme about him. - Boo Moon
E21Boo MoonCasper emerges from a subway station, following a crowd of scared strangers. He encounters a man who said "see the wonders of the Moon for ten cents," and offered a sight through a telescope. Casper scares the man away, then uses the telescope to see the Moon. He then flies to the Moon for a visit. - Ghost of Honor
E41Ghost of HonorCasper the Friendly Ghost attends a premiere of one of his own cartoons and is interviewed in the lobby. He is asked how he happened to become a movie star, and gives a lively account of his Hollywood venture. Spooky is angry and plays mean tricks on them- first with a giant crab, then with an octopus. Wendy angrily blames Casper for all of Spooky's tricks and demands to be taken home. As the cartoon progresses, Casper constantly forgets he does not possess his powers, which angers those he tries to help. Eventually he manages to scare a group of ghosts and regain his powers.
