Entertaining misadventures of a four year old boy named Caillou, where each day he discovers something new and interesting with his mommy, daddy, and Rosie. Between Caillou segments are segments featuring Caillou's pet cat Gilbert, Caillou's teddy bear, Teddy, and Caillou's toy dinosaur, Rexy, in puppet form. The show deals with issues like fear of the dark, patience, being a good friend, being a good sibling, and other important facts of life.

E1Caillou the Brave"Caillou and the Big Slide" At playschool, Caillou pretends to be a mountain-climber. It comes time for a trip to the pool. There are swings there and Caillou and his friends enjoy swinging on them. Then, their teacher Ms. Martin introduces them to Mary, the lifeguard. Leo calls Caillou to come try the waterslide. Caillou comes over, but seems a bit scared by it. He climbs up the ladder, but then climbs back down. Ms. Martin tells him that there was a time when she was afraid of swinging on the swings. She suggests that he give it another try. Caillou imagines that he is rafting down a mountain. He gives it a go and finds that he enjoys the waterslide. "Caillou the Sailor" Mommy and Daddy are all dressed up and going out for a party. They tell Caillou and Rosie that Grandpa coming over to babysit and bringing a surprise. Grandpa arrives, carrying a bag. However, when Caillou asks what's in it, Grandpa quips that it's his dirty socks and asks Caillou if he can wash them. Caillou calls him on this and he admits that it is the surprise --- a book about ships and sailing and a small telescope. Caillou has fun looking through the telescope, but Rosie has trouble closing just one eye to look through it. Grandpa reads a story from the book and suggests that Caillou and Rosie can be his crew. There's a storm outside, but Grandpa works the sound of the thunder into the game. Rosie starts to get tired and Grandpa puts her to bed. Caillou fantasizes about being the captain of a ship. Mommy and Daddy arrive home and Caillou shows Daddy the telescope. Grandpa then puts Caillou to bed and "Captain" Caillou says that he's not afraid of thunder anymore. "Caillou and the Creepy Crawlies" Caillou and Rosie are playing in the living room and Gilber's there too. He spots a spider and starts playing with it. Rosie notices this and says that the spider is yucky. Caillou tries to tell her that it isn't, mentioning that he learned all about bugs in playschool. Mommy suggests that they have a picnic outside and Caillou can draw some pictures of bugs and teach Rosie all about them. At first, it doesn't work, but then a ladybug lands on Rosie and she thinks it's kind of pretty. Caillou then shows her ants, noting that his teacher, Ms. Martin, read the class about all of the different jobs that ants have. He shows her a caterpillar and then a butterfly, and Rosie happily states that she likes the "flutterby." Caillou imagines that he's as small as a bug and that Rosie is flying high in the air on a "flutterby." Back in the real world, it would seem that Caillou has in fact taught Rosie to like bugs. - Caillou's Building Adventure
E8Caillou's Building AdventureCaillou eagerly awaits the first snowfall of winter, and imagines himself building the biggest snowman in the world. Caillou wants to play hockey with Billy and the other big kids, but he finds he just can't keep up with them. Mummy can't find Caillou's toboggan for the playschool tobogganing trip and Caillou is certain he'll miss out on all the fun. - A House in the Sky
E9A House in the SkyCaillou has to decide on a nice surprise to bring to playschool for Show and Tell. Grandma shows Caillou a simple magic trick, which makes him decide to be a magician. Caillou wants to play castles and dragons, even though Gilbert isn't very keen on playing the dragon. - Caillou Helps Out
E10Caillou Helps OutEveryone’s lending a helping hand today. Caillou plans a surprise birthday party for Grandpa with Grandma’s help. He and Grandma get everything ready, and Grandpa is very surprised and very happy. Rexy, on the other hand, is disappointed when Teddy and DeeDee are too busy with their chores to play with him. Gilbert suggests that Rexy help the others out - that way they’ll be finished sooner and ready to play. Caillou really likes to play with Leo’s pet hamster and would love to have one of his own. He doesn’t realize how much hard work having a hamster can be until he offers to look after Leo’s pet while Leo and his parents are out of town. He soon realizes it’s not all fun and games – especially with Gilbert around! In the puppet segments, Teddy is out raking leaves, while Deedee is busy gathering nuts for the winter. Gilbert sees Teddy raking the leaves and says that he'll come and help him later, but for the time being, he's going go have a catnap. Rexy also notices Teddy raking the leaves and asks him why he's doing it. After pestering him with "why" questions for a little while, he asks him if he's seen Deedee. Teddy says that he has, but tries to warn Rexy that Deedee is busy. Rexy doesn't listen and goes and asks Deedee if she wants to play pirates. Deedee is so busy that she doesn't really have time to do much more than say that she can't. Rexy doesn't understand why she'd choose gathering nuts over playing pirates, since playing pirates is much more fun. He decides to try playing pirates himself to show how much fun it is, but just ends up playing by himself. He starts to get sad and then Gilbert comes out, apparently having finished his catnap and asks him what he's doing by himself. Rexy explains how everyone's busy and Gilbert suggests that he ask if he can help out. So both Rexy and Gilbert help with everyone's chores and pretty soon they're all playing pirates together. E12Caillou to the RescueRosie is teething and just can't seem to fall asleep, so big brother Caillou decides to help. The Fire chief visits Caillou's playschool to teach the children about fire drills. Leo and Caillou have a grand adventure pretending they are tow truck drivers and crane operators rescuing toy cars from the pillows of the sofa. - Caillou and the Creepy Crawlies
E15Caillou and the Creepy CrawliesWhen Caillou accidentally breaks Mommy's favourite cup, Grandma suggests they make her a new one. When Caillou finds out that Miss Martin's birthday is coming up, he wants to do something very special for her. Sarah is playing at Caillou's house when a sudden rainstorm causes a power outage. - Snowflakes
E16SnowflakesCaillou wakes up and waits all morning for the first snow of winter, but it hasn't fell yet. When it starts to snow, Caillou gets dressed and goes outside to play. Caillou wants to build a snowman but there isn't enough snow. He makes snow angels instead. Then Sarah arrives and she and Caillou catch snowflakes. Sarah tells Caillou that every snowflake is different. Then they got a magnifying glass to get a closer look at the snowflakes. Then Caillou and Sarah decide to make their own snowflakes. Caillou and Sarah use scissors, while Rosie draws snowflakes. - Caillou Plays the Drums

Caillou and his friends Jason and Jeffrey make finger puppets at playschool and decide to put on a puppet show for the rest of the class the next day. Caillou's Christmas EveIt is Christmas Eve and Caillou's Mom has just made some Christmas cookies. Caillou looks at the Christmas tree in the Living room and wonders what new presents Santa will bring when he comes. Caillou puts cookies out for Santa and his Dad tells Caillou and Rosie that they must be asleep in order for Santa to come. . Caillou is determined to stay up to see Santa but he eventually falls asleep as has a dream that he is helping Santa deliver presents.
