Michael Westen, a seasoned U.S. spy, is suddenly "burned", i.e. discredited, without any form of procedure. He survives by doing impossible jobs for desperate people in Miami, where his mother lives. Michael is usually aided by his ex-girlfriend Fiona and trusted former FBI informer Sam.

Larry wants to kill everyone if anything goes wrong. It does surprisingly, so Michael, Sam and Fiona fight on several fronts.

Meanwhile, Michael needs to find the person who planted the bomb at his loft, therefor he turns to arms dealer Seymour for help.

Samantha stole a crucial military chip as ransom for her young son Charlie. Michael agrees to help her steal it back from ruthless arms-dealer Tyler Brennen, himself an ex-spy. Thereto he pretends to provide vital security for the sale of the chip.

    Lesser EvilMichael captures the rogue agent responsible for trying to bomb him, but he decides to form an alliance with him and together go after Carla and her boss. But that decision also puts Michael's mother in jeopardy.
