Bloch has returned to Baden-Baden to be with Clara. What one doesn't expect in this tranquil town is to be robbed in broad daylight. But Bloch falls victim to a very young, rather neglected-looking pickpocket who steals his wallet from his trouser pocket. However, he manages to detain her. When he tries to find out who she is, she spins him a web of lies, in which the psychologist recognizes not only an excuse but also the nightmare of a lost soul. It turns out that the girl comes from a very good family and has no need to steal. Behind her appearance and her kleptomania, however, lies more than just adolescent rebellion. In his attempt to help the girl, Bloch uncovers a family drama involving origins and hidden relatives.
