The Tennysons encounter a trio of merciless road pirates while traveling through the southwest. Their initial disinterest in Max' Rust Bucket turns when its performance in thwarting their aggression against an eye-catching RV exceeds expectation. Soon the pirates make it theirs, planning not just to burn up the highway with it but blow it up entirely. The Tennysons, along with a helpful waitress, engage in a high-speed chase to get it back.
