To Aiden's horror, his mother the vampire queen denies even promised rewards for services rendered: Suren isn't promoted but limited to Boston for centuries, he banished if he wants freedom for him and Henry. Aiden convinces Suren to leave for good, but soon finds her too spoiled to sacrifice comfort and Henry's loyalty is broken. Josh is shattered, yet wishes Aidan well, while wrestling himself with whether to give Julia another chance.
