Election Breakfast with David Dimbleby and Sue Lawley In this Nationwide Breakfast Special we shall be hearing from our reporters on location with the party leaders...seeking the waking thoughts of yesterday's voters as they set off for work...looking back at some of the highlights of the night. In the Election studio, Richard Stilgoe and Glyn Worsnip add a dash of humour and a song to suit the occasion.

David Dimbleby, Robin Day, Angela Rippon and the Election team assess the state of the parties and prepare for the 150-or-so results still to come, including all the results from Northern Ireland. As we wait for those declarations we shall be bringing you details of the largest Election survey ever carried out in Britain, a survey which will tell us the secrets of why Britain voted the way it did. The BBC/Essex University Survey, conducted by Gallup and analysed by Ivor Crewe and Robert McKenzie Colin Chapman will be at the Stock Exchange to sample reaction in the City and BBC outside broadcast units will be spread around the United Kingdom from Downing Street to South Down, the seat of Mr Enoch Powell.

Amongst ROBIN DAY'S guests this afternoon, Roy Hattersley Norman St John Stevas Cyril Smith , Merlyn Rees and Sir Keith Joseph Outside broadcast units in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will be at the late declarations which may be crucial to the balance of power ... and with the party leaders, wherever they may be.
