Barney is an anthropomorphic dog (an Old English Sheepdog) who is constantly seeking fame and fortune through show business. His constant companion is Roger, a mouse who has settled in Barney's fur. Among Barney's closest friends is "Mr Prophet", a perpetually pessimistic and depressed English Springer Spaniel.
