Loner Sam's life is transformed when he comes into possession of a gun and starts to break the law. His ambitious policewoman sister Gina is paid to uphold it and makes it her mission to find the owner of the weapon. The family saga plays out against an inquiry into the shooting of a local businessman that raises questions for Sam and Gina about their father's murder when they were young children.

Ambitious policewoman Gina spies an opportunity to win promotion by helping to track down Stevie's murderer. Unbeknown to Gina, her brother Sam is befriended by a new neighbour with a favour to ask and he finds himself in possession of a gun. - Gunshots

Gina becomes convinced that Sam's new neighbours have something to hide and Sam finds it increasingly difficult to live with the gun. E3Episode 3LossSam is threatened by a colleague after he's wrongly accused of stealing from the warehouse. Cai pressures Sam into compensating him for his sacking and the two make plans to stage a robbery. Gina is formally invited to join the murder investigation and the discovery of the body of one of Stevie's former employees throws new light on Stevie's business affairs. Sam and Cai stage their robbery and Cai is left reeling. - Shot
E4Episode 4ShotTired of Ray's constant niggling, Sam decides to get revenge by staging a second robbery, this time on his builder's yard. However, Sam's plans go disastrously wrong when Cai pulls the gun on a security guard who catches them in the act. Realising that the police are closing in, Cai decides to leave town, but not before trying to reclaim his half of the money from the van robbery. Gina is angry when she is sent home from work by Layla, and is surprised to be approached by Patricia, who tries to offer her money in return for undisclosed information on the case.
