Ballykissangel is a BBC television drama set in Ireland, produced in-house by BBC Northern Ireland. The original story revolved around a young English Roman Catholic priest as he became part of a rural community. It ran for six series, which were first broadcast on BBC One in the United Kingdom from 1996 to 2001.

Peter gets involved when he hears that Brian is responsible for their baby's illness. He appears to have ordered ""organic fertiliser"" to be dumped beside their caravan. But Peter has his own problems. His past catches up with him in the shape of Jennie, a former parishioner who thinks he once had feelings for her. She follows him from Manchester and arrives in BallyK as he is trying to establish himself in the parish. The young couple in the caravan need to move, and in an effort to get some money together for them, the BallyK vet, Siobhan, suggests that they bet against their own side in the next Gaelic football match . . . a match in which Peter is the reserve goalkeeper. - Live in My Heart and Pay No Rent

As he had only just got out of the car he takes it as a sign that he should become a priest. Peter tries to talk him out of it, but Ambrose calls off the engagement. Niamh has other problems to deal with, as she becomes disgusted at the idea of her father meeting up with an ex-girlfriend. Local Hill farmer, Eamonn, attempts to provide evidence of his elusive sheep to the European Union, in order to get his subsidy, by constructing wooden sheep. Niamh decides she wants her wedding reception to go ahead, even if she's not having the wedding. 'Hardly a Wedding reception' results in large sales of stout which Assumpta was given without charge, and after a little intervention by Peter, Ambrose gatecrashes the party and Proposes to Niamh. - The Power and the Gory
E5The Power and the GoryWhen the local TP (Irish republican MP) and national figure is buried, father MacAnally convinces devout Brian Quigley to stand against his party's succession-candidate, Sean Dooley, who still meddles with Brian's campaign-timed donation for the people-ignored church restoration fund. Donal Doherty meanwhile dug up some bones on Quigley's building site which may be human. - Missing You Already
E6Missing You AlreadyBrian Quigley brings a fair to the town, along with his own bar and grill, putting Asumpta out of business for the weekend. But while Assumpta contemplates the possibility that she might lose her business, Father Clifford must accept his possible departure from BallyK.
