Sotnikov arranges a tough interrogation for Anya, recalling all the oddities of her behavior, incredible coincidences, when the detectives seemed to know where and when the next crimes would be. Anya has to show miracles of resourcefulness in order to make Sotnikov believe in a coincidence. Moreover, she persuades Sotnikov to help return the watch to the German guest. When a stolen watch is planted on a German during an excursion, Nikolai hurries to thank Usienko, who promised to help him with the search through his channels.
