The father, discovering Anya's ring, forces her daughter to confess everything. Realizing that the ring was stolen, Ksenaki hurries to Zaslavsky so that he can help get rid of the ring through his own channels. After the dressing down in the city committee, the head of the UGRO, Vasiliev Sr., ends up in the hospital with an attack. He persuades Nikolai, who came to visit, to join the work of the department, because Nikolai is already quite experienced, besides, he is a detective from the capital. Sotnikov with his henchmen is developing a plan for a new robbery.
