Birgit Reincke (Veronica Ferres) is a resolute and quick-witted investigator in her early 50s who has supposedly given up her job. She is assisted by Jonas Becker (Tim Oliver Schultz), a feisty and impulsive rookie detective, and Marie Sonnleitner (Salka Weber), a brilliant scientist from neighboring Salzburg with a sharp mind and an unusual eye for crime scenes and connections.
