Retired dress manufacturer, Randolph Briggs met Mel playing golf. Briggs buys the diner from Mel for enough money to keep him on easy street for life. Once the deal is done, the girls and Mel have a good cry. The next morning, the diner opens under the new name of Randolph's Rondevu. There's going to be a lot of changes under the new Briggs regime.
