The landlord, who is unaware of Mr. Alcock's death, wants the Alcock Companies to vacate the premises so that he can sell the building. The lease has three more years to run, so Marigold doesn't want to accommodate him. Unfortunately, the lease was in her late husband's name and didn't transfer to her upon his death. She convinces dim-witted Ernest to pretend to be her husband. Meanwhile, Richard Gander decides that he needs life insurance.
