Death of a reporterTom and Semir investigate the murder of Armin Dahlen, a journalist who was working on an explosive exposé. Shortly before he was shot, he hid a tiny digital camera in Engelhardt's handbag. The gangsters Schulte and Jacobsen, who work for the haulage company Lambert, do everything they can to find the camera, as it contains evidence of illegal toxic waste disposal. After a raid on Engelhardt's apartment, they manage to steal the camera. While Tom and Semir follow the trail to Bachmann, a corrupt landfill worker, a showdown with Lambert ensues.

A deep dropWerner Freese recklessly causes an accident that results in death and flees. His son Marcel notices the crash, but Freese remains uncooperative. While Tom and Semir investigate, Tom recognizes Freese's wife Isabelle as his childhood sweetheart. Freese is suspected, but remains free due to a lack of evidence. Driven by jealousy and madness, he brutally beats Isabelle and threatens to kill her. Marcel finally confesses the truth, whereupon Tom and Semir catch Freese and save Isabelle.

Sold down the riverA courier driver is attacked; the stolen package contained a diamond bracelet that Anja Seidel wanted to use to prove the innocence of her imprisoned father. Shortly afterwards, the private detective she hired is murdered. Tom and Semir suspect Anja's husband Sebastian, who was in a dispute with her father. An assassination attempt on Anja and the discovery of the bracelet on Sebastian lead to his arrest - but the real perpetrator remains hidden.

Shadows of the pastDuring a routine check, Tom and Semir pursue a reckless truck driver, Jan Waldner, who eventually crashes. Waldner claims that his brakes failed, but the investigation shows the opposite - and that the truck was transporting cocaine. A colleague takes over the cargo, unaware that the drugs are hidden in video recorders. Meanwhile, Elena Krüger, the head of the shipping company, turns Tom's head. But is she really the love of his life - or is she involved in the drug business?
The parting

The partingTom and Semir come across a series of murders in the drug trade: first drivers are brutally murdered, then the drug baron Helmut Marz. It quickly becomes clear that Leon Zürs, who they thought was dead, is alive and is taking over the empire. Disfigured by the fire, he blames Tom and wants revenge. Meanwhile, Tom learns that his great love Elena is pregnant - but his happiness is shattered when Zürs detonates a car bomb and kills Elena. Tom has only one goal: to bring Zürs down once and for all.
