After the 1967 setback, Umm Kulthum transformed from a famous singer into a national icon through her contribution to the war effort. She raised funds to rebuild the army and boost the morale of Egyptians and Arabs after the defeat through a series of concerts in the Arab world and Europe, including a historic concert at the Olympia Theater in Paris, which has the largest Jewish community in Europe and is controlled by Zionist organizations.
