In the last year of World War II, General Vitay, one of the leaders of the Hungarian resistance movement, hid his daughter, Gina, in a church educational institution along the border. Gina is a cheerful girl who loves the exciting life in Budapest. She finds difficult to adhere to the strict world of the institute, and in addition, with an irritated outburst, she puts her schoolmates in a difficult position, therefore they exclude her amongst themselves.
