- macaronz19 de agosto de 2026Ever since The Transporter, it feels like many of Statham's movies have followed a similar formula: he's an ex-special forces guy, ex-cop, bodyguard, or some other highly skilled badass who gets caught up in a dangerous situation and spends the rest of the movie beating everyone up. As for Mutiny, some of the action scenes are well done and fun to watch, but there simply isn't enough action to make the film particularly exciting. The story is also pretty generic: he's working as a bodyguard, his billionaire boss gets murdered, and he gets caught up in the aftermath. Then the movie throws in a human-trafficking angle and an international conspiracy to make things more complicated. There was actually a bizarre incident yesterday: Amazon Prime Video accidentally made the entire movie available in the US for roughly an hour on August 19, two days before its scheduled theatrical release. Amazon subsequently removed it. It appears to have been an accidental upload, not an early OTT release. Overall, Mutiny felt pretty average to me. A few solid action moments and Jason Statham's usual presence make it watchable, but the repetitive formula and predictable story keep it from being anything special.

- ርልዪረ19 de agosto de 2026🥱Probably the worst Statham movie yet. Definitely the Aldi version of Die Hard if Die Hard was set on a ship. The acting is poor, the story is formulaic, there is nothing to make it stand out. There is one good point however, the run time is just a tad over 90 minutes. So if you want to indulge in some time you will never get back, here's 90 minutes to fill that void.

Brendan Galvin's steel-gray cinematography gives the cargo vessel a suitably industrial chill, with cramped corridors and hard surfaces doing some of the heavy lifting that the script never manages. Jean-François Richet keeps the production looking polished enough, but the material itself feels assembled from whatever action scripts were left in the warehouse. There is competence here without much personality, and the film's increasingly sluggish pace makes even its more functional stretches feel longer than they need to be. Jason Statham at least gives the movie a pulse. As Cole Reed, he brings the physical authority and blunt screen presence you'd expect, while Annabelle Wallis makes the most of a role that gives her little room to escape the film's formula. A predictable B-movie isn't necessarily a problem when the machinery moves fast enough, but Mutiny keeps grinding through its conspiracy at a mechanical pace that works against the very actor it was built around. Statham needs momentum. The movie keeps taking it away. There's enough production polish here to make it perfectly serviceable background viewing for an undemanding action night, but once the credits roll, there isn't much left to carry out of the cargo hold.
