The 20 minutes added in the director's cut make this film perfect.

    Still the best Alien movie
  • TurboShane1 de junho de 2026
Almost as good as the original.

Aliens is probably the most popular film from the franchise, and it is good - However I strongly prefer the first film (Alien) to this one. Alien was more a slow and tension filled horrow film with a relentless killer stalking the helpless crew. Aliens is much more an action packed popcorn movie. It's really good.. just not as good as Alien.

What's the best movie of all time, and why is it Aliens.

Whether it's better than the original is a matter of taste. But there's no denying it's a classic with some of the most iconic lines of the entire franchise.

Ridley Scott nailed the balance of pure horror with just a touch of action and made one of the all-time great horror movies. Funny enough, James Cameron basically did a full 180—leaned hard into action with just enough horror—and somehow ended up making one of the best action movies ever. It’s louder, faster, and way more intense, but never loses that edge. The pacing is tight, the energy never dips, and every moment feels purposeful. The characters actually stick with you too, which makes all the chaos hit harder. Just one of those rare sequels that doesn’t just live up to what came before—it does its own thing and absolutely crushes it.

This is the quintessential ‘80s action movie. It has all the cliches and tropes you’d come to expect from a blockbuster sci-fi\action flick but this movie defined those traits. It takes the magnificent and genre-defining classic Alien and turns the volume up to 11. James Cameron took almost every aspect of the first film and ramped up the tension, multiplied the horror by 100 and vaulted Ellen Ripley’s character into Hollywood movie history. There are so many iconic scenes and characters in this movie that it is nearly impossible to list and describe them all. If you haven’t seen this movie you’re not a movie fan. Ellen Ripley is not a comic book superwoman, bench pressing M1 tanks and going face-to-face in a bare-knuckled brawl MMA brawl with the Aliens, she is a smart, determined woman laying waste to anything between her and her surrogate child with only the resources she has available. There is a reason this character stands alone at the top of list of Hollywood’s iconic heroes. Watching her gear up in the elevator as it slowly descends into hell is inspiring and unforgettable. Carrie Henn is brilliant in this movie because there is not an ounce of pretentiousness in her. She is a deeply traumatized child with a recent past that would cause anyone to withdraw, let alone long a 6-9 year old girl. Jeanette Goldstein gave us Vasquez, a ground-breaking and all-too-convincing female soldier who takes absolutely no bullshit from anyone. Hard to believe she isn’t Hispanic, but rather a freckled, curly haired white girl body builder who wore makes up and affected a Spanish accent to cement herself in movie history. Paul Reiner is Carter Burke, a slimy, two-faced scumbag who puts money ahead of other human beings, and uses the first third of the movie building an audience hatred that is impossible to overcome. Michael Biehn is the classic, stoic Marine thrust into a situation a little too confident, and a little too far in over his head. Bill Paxton is brilliant as the wise-cracking, overconfident Hudson who goes from dropping memorable one-liners, to cracking and cowering in fear to redeeming himself when the movie reaches is climax. This movie is quite a bit different from Ridley Scott’s slow-moving and tension filled dread found in the first movie but takes all the foundations from that movie and creates this masterful action\sci-flick that will leave all but THE most jaded people exhausted and thrilled by movie’s end.

I loved this even more than the original. I would say one of the best sequels ever. In a world were sequels are almost always disappointments this one shines bright.

Let's clear my mind set hust now: I love Alien, and I love AlienS. BUT for me the two movies are two different kind of movie. The first one is psychological, full off fears and tension. The second second one has much less fear but a lot of good action sequences. Two different visions of the same thing. The second movie has a good amount of humor, action and a some scare moment, and it has aged well. Those are two movies that are pillars of sci-fi genders and for good reasons

Hands down the best sci-fi action film in my library. Alien is a high tension horror film, while Aliens is a high adrenaline action ride. I love it from beginning to end. Amazing cast, story, sound effects, practical effects. Cinematography like this needs to be studied for educational purposes - Hollywood of today needs to take notes on what makes this timeless in the sci-fi horror genre.

Alien was all suspense, Aliens adds action. A movie classic that influenced many other movies and video games.
