Matt Damon does a nice job as "Captain Blond Beard" and I am sure he woukd agree a better pirate then spaceman. The story keeps you engaged and rooting for a mission that will never happen in our lifetime, if it does I'll comeback to this review and apologize to everyone who read it.

Very similar themes, and an overall positive view on mankind and what we are capable of in the most impossible situations. Highly entertaining, absurdly inspirational and a much needed watch for jaded folks like myself.

Matt Damon made the survival story believable without turning it overly dramatic, and the movie kept me invested by focusing on problem solving, resilience, and hope instead of nonstop action. The science felt realistic enough to pull you into the experience, and Mars itself looked both beautiful and terrifying. A rare sci-fi film that feels inspiring instead of hopeless.
