- TheMovieWall17 września 2026I love the Suicide Squad. From the music, colorful title cards, characters, and cheesy plot line I was hooked. For some reason it gets quite a bit of hate but for me its a great comic book movie that has just the right amount of goofiness, heart felt moments, and action. Yes the dialogue is cringe at times but for me it just adds to the vibe of the movie. The line Rick Flag tells the squad about Katana’s sword trapping the souls of it victims is freaking hilarious and fun. And that is just one of so many stupidly hilarious one liners. Directed by David Ayer who is known for films like Fury, End of Watch, Street Kings, and Harsh Times. He has a varying array of movies he has directed. I think Suicide Squad is in his top 5 for me. While his most recent films have been Jason Statham films which can be hit or miss. The ones he directed recently were A working Man and The Beekeeper. Admittedly, not my favorite movies. The plot of this movie is simple. The Ole Evil Witch scenario that wants to destroy the world. The characters and how they are shown is what makes this movie entertaining. The pacing keeps things moving right along and I never really got bored at any point. It’s fun and stupid from begging to end. Amanda Waller played by Viola Davis is perfect in this role. I would be scared of her too. We also even get a Batman appearance! This movie is the first time we get to see Rick Flag played by Joel Kinnaman. Who I think does a really great job with this role. In this movie each character or member of the squad gets a little backstory segment that I found fun and unique. We get to see each of their skill sets and little bit of why they ended up where they ended up. Griggs was hilarious and we even get a whole side quest sub plot involving The Joker and Harley Quinn. Jared Leto I wouldn’t say nails The Joker but it’s unique and kinda grows on you. I think you can say the Margo Robbie nails Harley Quinn. She doesn’t necessarily have that crazy eye look I think Harley should have but we can’t have it all. I have rewatched this many times so I have to add it to The Movie Wall Wall Wall…
- thomasrogers75314 lipca 2026I watched the extended cut and I honestly don’t know what the difference between the original and this was but I wanted to give this the best chance it could get given its reputation The casting in my opinion is the best part of this, Viola Davis as Waller is perfect and I really liked Harley Quinn and Rick Flagg‘s characters in this. Everyone else was either okay or just didn’t wow me in any way However, the biggest thing I disliked from this film is the Joker portrayal by Jared Leto, I think Leto is a great actor, but he was severely miscast in this role. I mean was more just a thug than a psychopath and his laugh was TERRIBLE and I didn’t buy him and Harley’s relationship at all, he didn’t seem to care about her at all even with the “reason” they try and give. Action seem dull, bad writing, and I just felt like I was drug from a chain watching this. Not a great watch.

With the exception of Harley, no one really cares about the characters, and even less of the ‘squad spirit’ they hoped for. Oh, and the worst Joker you’ll likely have to endure on screen.
- Zokkiie15 marca 2026A pretty mixed bag, but still entertaining enough. It has a cool style and a strong soundtrack, though the editing is kind of chaotic and it never fully comes together. Margot Robbie steals the show and makes every scene she’s in more fun. Some of the other characters feel underused, and the Joker stuff really doesn’t work for me at all. Messy, but still a decent watch.

It has some strong moments: the idea of a dirty dozen of supervillains forced into black-ops missions is fun, the soundtrack is lively, and a few character beats—especially with Deadshot and Harley—do land. But the movie constantly trips over its own choices. If you removed the entire Joker subplot, I honestly think it could have been much stronger. His presence feels unnecessary and distracting, eating up screen time that could have gone into fleshing out the main story and the rest of the team. Instead of deepening Harley, it often just derails the pacing (sorry, pudding). With more focus on the squad’s dynamics, their grudging camaraderie, and a clearer, less muddy central threat, Suicide Squad could have been a tight, character-driven blast. As it is, it’s a flawed, watchable chaos with lost potential.

- M08Y27 września 2025The film wants to be edgy. I wanted it to be good. Suicide Squad a real mess, It's all over the place in just about every way imaginable. The pacing is horrible and the tone flip-flops between dark and gritty to generic nonsnse, The casting is surprisingly good (Except Leto's Joker. Seriously go away please). Smith, Robbie and Kinnaman all turn in a good performance. Fortunately I know that good things are still to come for two of them. The plot is.... about what you'd expect for a 15 rated DC movie in 2016. Overly edgy, lots of bad language, lots of violence, lots of music, lots of bloodless killing and of course, my favourite, a big sky laser/portal. I've heard it said that this film is far from what Ayer actually intended to make and honestly I belive it. Suicide Squad had the rather unfortunate fate of coming after Batman vs Superman where DC decided to try and make everything funnier and more like marvel.... We all know how that turned out. The audio and visuals are pretty much what you'd expect for this kind of film. There were a few nice shots and the special effects were actually finished. The audio quality was fine, but my god was there so much music thrown in. Genuinely a distracting amount of music. Enough music to make James Gunn wince.
