After reading the book I watched this and felt it did a pretty darn good job of adapting the book which is a tough read. It is pretty depressing and dark. I think it tries to get across the consequences of a certain ideology or thought process. As well as the sadder side of human nature. Powerful book and Powerful movie. Not something I would want to watch again any time soon though. Amazing performances by the actors.
