International Career In November 2023, Ahmed was called up to the Somali national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers after drawing attention from the Somali Football Federation through a family connection. He made his competitive debut on November 16, 2023, scoring Somalia's only goal in a 3-1 match against Algeria at Nelson Mandela Stadium, a milestone as Somalia's fourth goal in World Cup qualifying history.
