Raymond Arthur "Ray" MacDonnell is an American actor, best known for his role as Dr. Joe Martin on the daytime soap opera All My Children, a role he played for 40 years. MacDonnell received a Daytime Emmy award for Lifetime Achievement in 2004. Prior to appearing on All My Children, he played Philip Capice on the soap The Edge of Night from 1961–69. In 1967, he played the title role of Dick Tracy in a live-action television pilot. The show was not picked up.
