Juliette Cavazzi
Juliette Sysak, later known as Juliette Cavazzi, began her singing career in Winnipeg at a young age. Her talent caught the attention of Dal Richards, leading to her iconic performances. Moving to Toronto in the 1950s, she gained popularity through her shows on CBC-TV, which portrayed her as warm and wholesome. Juliette first appeared on a post-hockey variety show led by Billy O'Connor and his trio in 1955. Initially part of the ensemble, conflicts between Juliette and O'Connor led to her departure. CBC then created a show centred around her. Her program evolved over the years, featuring various talented performers. Even after her show's end in 1966, Juliette remained a fixture on CBC and later hosted a talk show. Her contributions were recognized with honours such as the Order of Canada and induction into Canada's Walk of Fame. She passed away in 2017, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances and contributions to Canadian entertainment.
