Jon Meade Huntsman Jr. is an American businessman, diplomat, politician, who has served as the Ambassador of the United States to Russia (2017-2019), the U.S. Ambassador to China (2009-2011), the 16th Governor of Utah (2005-2009), and the U.S. Ambassador to Singapore (1992-1993). He has served in the administrations of five Presidents and was a candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. Huntsman has announced his candidacy for reelection as governor of Utah in the 2020 election. Should he win, he would be the first governor in Utah history to serve non-consecutive terms.
