  • This movie is more than "OK". Sorry new-gens. This is the greatest post-Eastwood modern Western starring some of Hollywood's best in their prime during the greatest entertainment decade in history. "I'll be your Huckleberry..." 9.3/10

A purebred Daisy from my childhood. ‘You tell ‘em I’m coming, and hell’s coming with me!’ A forever classic.

I’m revisiting this movie after nearly 20 years since my last viewing. I remember as a teenager that grew up with the Spaghetti Westerns, that I had high expectations for this movie, but left the theater feeling a bit underwhelmed. But then everyone kept referencing Val Kilmer in this role, and it became an iconic/pop culture role for him. I watched it again in my early 20s, appreciating it more, but still underwhelmed. Here I am in my 40s and watching it with a different lens. And I loved it. The opening sequence in particular is very reminiscent of the Spaghetti Westerns. And even though I had not seen the movie in decades, I practically echoed “Aw Hell” with Wyatt when Josephine walked in…. so apparently it did sink in, I just did not realize it. I also now appreciate the star studded cast with many actors and actresses becoming household names today. I never saw the other Wyatt Earp so cannot compare the two as many so often do. But I guess that is a commentary in and of itself

Still a good watch no matter how many times I've seen it.

Best western I’ve seen so far, it has everything. The only thing I didn’t like was that maybe the version that I saw was a theatrical cut because I felt some things just happened suddenly.

It is a tad bit slow in the beginning, but otherwise certainly a masterpiece of the western genre.

Such a great movie. You care about the characters. The acting is amazing. And it flows so well, if I seeing playing and think, "I'll just watch a few minutes", I end up watching it to the end.

9.5/10 - I'm Your Huckleberry My Original rating was 8.5. But after watching it again, it is way better the 2nd time around for me. Now if you do watch this again You're a Daisy if you do.

I'm aware no one will agree with me on this, but both Tombstone and The Untouchables are the exact same brand of dumb. I was a kid when these movies were released and perhaps it was my mistake waiting until i was a full-grown adult to watch them for the first time. I could see how they might be charming in the 90s but today, they're just not holding up for me. Sorry. That said, Val Kilmer is the best part of the on-screen talent and the film has some cool shots and nice moments. I'd rather watch Appaloosa (2008).

If you enjoy westerns this is a must watch, if you are a player of the game Red Dead Redemption this is also a must watch many Easter eggs in the game from this movie. Amazing cast, location & attention to details. It can be a bit busy at time as many characters stories are being told at the same time. I'm not a massive fan of the older generation of western, I tend to find them a bit dated this one doesn't fall into that category. Looks great in 4k. Kurt as the lead delivers a great performance but Val delivers one of his career best performances.

4 out 5 star because Wyatt Earp could have exacted even more righteous revenge but didn't.
