- James Saenz12 aprile 2026the reference to jack walking through the maze in the shining alone pushed this up to a 3.5 for me. wildehopps content goes crazy. respectable to tackle the concept of generational wealth gained from the exploitation of lower classes and how the desperation to retain that will compromise one’s own morals, but it does also kind of just repeat the animal racism plot line again. has all the same flaws and strengths of the original.

Great animation, stellar voice cast, well-structured story and reveals, expands on the original without downplaying the ending or repeating the plot, a better written twist villain than the first one, hilarious jokes and callbacks that nearly all landed, good references that were fun to catch, good music, great worldbuilding, an all-around perfect sequel! I’d love to see this become a series if they’re all as good as the first two. I didn’t realize all the possibilities the Zootopia world has. Interested to see where they go with the end credit tease. Crazy how Disney is still good if they actually lock in, who knew!

- vangh18 dicembre 20252ootopia is very good overall, though in terms of some of the throwaway jokes, plot points, and the story overall there was definitely some high level, more adult stuff in this one. I guess that's not totally out of character for the series, given the nudist club in the first. But having threesome jokes, political murder plots, and patent paperwork conspiracy in a kids movie felt (Nick) wild(e). The theme of legacy hungry land owners growing their power on the backs and disenfranchisement of the industrious impoverished definitely felt poignant. And it was nice to see Nick and Judy being able to identify, work through, and communicate their feelings lucidly, even if the scene itself didn't exactly play believably. I don't think this one will be an eventual re-watch favorite in our household, unlike the first was.
