- Matthias_812April 3, 2025Legitimately coming out of Yes, Madam! as one of my favorite martial arts pictures. Female badassery good cop bad cop duo of Michelle Yeoh and Cynthia Rothrock kick all the ass and are marvelous onscreen. Asian action films of this era just can't be topped in stunt work, these people have to in be near death experiences just to be captured on camera. The stunt work and fight choreography is incredible- the opening minutes alone will drop your jaw. Practically every line of dialogue is shouted at one another, this thing is paced and edited so quickly it keeps you mesmerized. At the same time though it does get tedious just near the final climax. Those last fifteen minutes though are impressive. I have a feeling Tarantino was "inspired" by this balcony sword fight for Kill Bill.
