World War Z Ratings & Reviews
- Das_Lama16 June 2025I liked this movie. Saw it in theater. The zombies haul ass... Like Last of Us hauling ass! But without the stupidity and obnoxious characters of The Last of Us. Spoiler: The only head shaker for me in the movie was the giant wall in Israel. No one bothered to ask, "Hey, good folks of Israel, what is with you guys building that giant and very expensive 200 to 300 ft. tall wall?"
- Daiken Seige2 April 2026As a Zombie or "Infected" movie this isn't bad. As a movie based on the book written by Mac Brooks it's horrible. If you a fan of the terrific book just know the only thing they share is a title. This movie is a fast pace action heavy movie with some of the most unbelievable events but it's a good watch. It's a good popcorn movie.
- Billy Zane13 February 2026Amazing movie. Anyone else notice Peter Capaldi as a W.H.O Doctor, a year before he would become the new Doctor Who?
- pipanni9 February 2026In real life when death comes for you there's nothing you can do. But in zombie movies death has two legs and a body, and it growls as it lunges for you, ready to devour your flesh. So if you pick up a weapon and kill it you're overcoming death itself. Beating your impending doom. I think that's what makes zombie movies so riveting for fans of the genre. I read the "World War Z" book many years ago and it's a great story, filled with awesome details, many of which are yet to be fully explored in undead media. So when I saw the movie and concluded that it has nothing to do with the book, I was disappointed. It's just another zombie movie. And the ending slows to a crawl, which is also a pity. Still, it's entertaining and it has incredible production values and memorable scenes, hence deserving a high grade. See it if you're a zombie fan, but if you're a fan of the book be prepared to watch a completely different story.
- joyo227 February 2026It's definitely worth watching. They don't make end-of-the-world films like this anymore.
- Scott Smith24 June 2025I just watched this again after first seeing it over a decade ago. It holds up really well. The action starts quick and keeps on going. Well acted, good writing, and some good CGI effects. Brad Pitt did a great job carrying this movie.
- Otacon!17 January 2026I've seen the movie I think 4-5 times over the years, and I like it. It's interesting and well done.
- svei5 December 2025Extremely gripping, tight, taught.
- F El Hage5 December 2025bad really bad
- Louis Alexander13 November 2025World War Z stands out as a groundbreaking blockbuster that fundamentally altered the landscape of the zombie genre. Unlike the contained, regional outbreaks typical of George A. Romero's work, this film delivered an unprecedented global scope, transforming the apocalypse into a sweeping, cinematic spectacle made possible by extensive CGI. The film's most visceral contribution is its portrayal of the undead. While fast-moving zombies had been seen before in films like 28 Days Later, World War Z reimagined them not as individual threats, but as a terrifying, ant-like force of nature moving with a unified "hive mentality." The visual of these creatures swarming and piling over the Jerusalem wall remains one of the genre's most iconic sequences. Narratively, the film smartly pivots from survival horror to a globe-trotting pandemic thriller. Brad Pitt plays a United Nations investigator whose mission emphasizes epidemiology, military strategy, and intelligence gathering to find a scientific solution, offering a more grounded, realistic approach than many of its peers. Furthermore, the strategic decision to pursue a PG-13 rating—uncommon for the genre—opened the film up to a massive, mainstream audience, propelling the zombie blockbuster into a new era of global popularity. World War Z ultimately delivers an impactful, large-scale thriller that redefined the visual and narrative possibilities of the zombie apocalypse.
- Mister Arn18 May 2025The action scenes kept me engaged, even while the reluctant hero storyline felt contrived.
- Nathan Magreta31 October 2025It has flaws, but Brad Pitt leads a great apocalyptic zombie film.
