My quick rating - 3.2/10. Still, no one learns not to return to the town you came from. Reasons I picked this one for #shocktober, it was short. When absolutely nothing happens for an entire 78 minutes, it can still seem like an eternity. WOW, was this slow and slow to never get anywhere. It is hard to sum up a plot when there really isn't one. So when Cassandra Magrath, as Claire, a suspended police officer, gets weird to head back to her hometown, she arrives to find that it has completely changed. Changed, being it seems devoid of men, and all the women are apparently in a coven of witches. This gives her two issues to attempt to figure out: her own problem with the guy she was trying to save back on her job (which they do an awful job of explaining), and what dark forces are causing the town to turn to witchcraft. Well, guess what, none of this is ever addressed. That is what you have to put together from nothing happening. Scenes go on endlessly for no reason. Driving to the town takes 5 minutes, staring at the person you are talking to for a solid minute without dialogue or facial expression, stuff like this was just rampant. It is really too bad since, for an unknown cast, they did well considering they had nothing to work with. That and considering the budget, camerawork, and editing far exceeded the norm for the monetary level. It is such a shame to waste the talent of the unknown actors, and the eye the cinematographer had on such a crappy script. After clicking delete and returning to the poster, I realized maybe that was part of the nothingness in the actual movie. Since her being the center of the whole issue was surely never conveyed throughout, I think they had the marketing done before having a screenplay laid out.
